“A/C Mechanix has been our go-to HVAC company for years. When our AC unit went out on the hottest week of the summer, their technician was at our Longwood home within two hours. He diagnosed the issue quickly (a failed capacitor) and had the system running again before noon. The pricing was completely upfront with no surprises. Couldn't be happier with the response time and professionalism. Highly recommend to anyone in the Orlando area!”

Common Water Heater Problems We Fix

Water heaters give plenty of warning signs before they fail completely. If you are noticing lukewarm water, fluctuating temperatures, discolored or rusty water, unusual noises, or visible leaks around the base of the unit, something is wrong. Common causes include failed heating elements, a tripped reset button, a worn-out thermostat, a depleted anode rod, or sediment buildup in the tank.

Our technicians are trained to troubleshoot all of these issues across every major brand and fuel type. We carry common replacement parts on our trucks so many repairs can be completed in a single visit.

Honest Advice When You Need It

We understand that a water heater repair is an unplanned expense, and we will never push a replacement when a repair makes sense. But we will also be straight with you when a unit is at the end of its life and putting more money into it is not worth it. Our goal is to give you the information you need to make the best decision for your home and budget.

Frequently Asked Questions

My water heater is making a popping or rumbling noise. What does that mean?

Popping or rumbling noises usually indicate sediment buildup at the bottom of the tank. The noise comes from water trapped beneath the sediment being heated and bubbling up. A tank flush often resolves the issue, but if the buildup is severe, it may have already caused damage to the tank lining.

Should I repair or replace my water heater?

As a general rule, if your water heater is more than 10 years old and the repair cost is more than half the price of a new unit, replacement is usually the better investment. We will give you an honest recommendation based on the age and condition of your system.

Why is my water heater leaking from the bottom?

A leak from the bottom of the tank usually means the tank itself has corroded through and is no longer repairable. In some cases, the leak may be coming from the drain valve or a fitting, which can be repaired. We will inspect the unit and let you know what we find.
